Perceptle Split practice
Split gives you a line and a fraction. On a normal day the line runs from x = 100 to x = 700, 600 units, and the fraction is between 15% and 85%. You drag a mark and release. The error is the distance from the true point divided by the line length. σ is 0.05, so being off by 1% of the line is about 98 points, 2.5% is about 88, and 5% is about 61. A right-end fraction r is the same point as a left-end fraction of 1 − r.
The #97 reconstruction is 5/11 from the left, which is 45.455%, near x = 372.7. I find the halfway mark first, then step back a little. Friday shortens the line to x = 240–560 and allows fractions past 1, such as 9/7 from the right on the #98 reconstruction. That mark sits beyond the segment. I have not confirmed #97’s fraction on the live HUD, so it stays labeled reconstructed.

- Read which end the fraction starts from before you drag.
- Find one half, then a quarter. 5/11 is just under one half.
- From the right, convert with 1 − r if you think more easily from the left.
- Friday: a fraction above 1 is outside the segment, not a trick to clamp at the end.
Does the side of the fraction matter?
Yes. 5/11 from the left is not 5/11 from the right. The right-end version lands at 1 − 5/11 from the left.
What if the fraction is greater than 1?
That is a Friday prompt. The correct mark is past the end of the segment, on the side you were told to measure from.
