Perceptle Friday mode

Friday mode is a flag in the public client, not a separate game. It turns on when the puzzle date is a Friday and the puzzle number is at least 14. I used the archive to confirm the edge: #7 on Friday 24 July 2026 has no joker, and #14 on 31 July 2026 is the first one. The grade cutoffs do not change. The tolerances get wider, and the tasks get stranger.

Puzzle #98 as a worked Friday

23 October 2026 is puzzle #98 and it is a Friday. The reconstructed targets are 80 moving dots, a landing near x = 427, an angle of 491° (one full turn plus 131°), 80 BPM tapped on the half-beat, and 9/7 measured from the right end. I have not replayed that puzzle on the live client yet, so the answer page marks every target as reconstructed. The shape of the tasks matches the Friday branch in the client.

Wider σ does not mean an easier day. On Friday 16 October 2026, puzzle #91, the stats API recorded 46,151 players and an average total of 48.8. The day before was 61.7 and the day after was 60.0. Tempo that Friday averaged 24.6. When I compare that row with normal days, the extra tolerance is real and still not enough for most people.

How I prepare

Is every Friday a Perceptle Friday?

No. The puzzle also has to be number 14 or later. Friday 24 July 2026 was puzzle #7 and stayed on normal rules.

Do Friday grades use a different scale?

No. The total is still the rounded average of five 0–100 scores, and S still starts at 95.
